Privacy policy

This page describes how Ultranote handles account information, uploaded material, and study data.

Who is responsible for Ultranote

Ultranote operates the Ultranote app and website. If you have questions about this privacy policy or want to make a privacy-related request, email [email protected].

Information Ultranote collects

Ultranote collects the information you provide directly, including account details such as your name, email address, and sign-in provider information when you create or access an account.

Ultranote also collects the content you choose to submit or create in the service, including notes, recordings, uploaded files, transcripts, prompts, generated study materials, and related metadata.

Ultranote may collect subscription, transaction, device, log, and diagnostic information needed to operate the service, keep accounts secure, detect abuse, and troubleshoot reliability issues.

How Ultranote uses information

Ultranote uses information to provide and improve the service, including authenticating users, syncing notes across devices, storing uploaded materials, generating study outputs, processing subscriptions, responding to support requests, and keeping the app secure and reliable.

When you use study-generation features, Ultranote may process source material, transcripts, prompts, and related content to generate notes, translations, answers, flashcards, quizzes, and other outputs.

Service providers and sharing

Ultranote does not sell your personal information. Ultranote may share information with service providers that help operate the app, including providers used for authentication, backend infrastructure, subscription management, and AI-powered processing.

Based on the current app implementation, those providers may include Apple, Google, Convex, RevenueCat, and OpenAI, along with other vendors reasonably needed to host and secure the service.

Ultranote may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce its terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, Ultranote, and third parties.

Retention, deletion, and backups

Ultranote keeps personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and prevent fraud or abuse.

You can delete your account through the self-serve deletion flow inside the app. When an account is deleted, Ultranote will delete or de-identify associated data unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, billing, or similar compliance reasons.

Limited copies of information may remain in backups, logs, or disaster-recovery systems for a reasonable period before they are overwritten or deleted in the ordinary course of operations.

Your rights and choices

You can review or update certain account details inside the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing.

To make a request that is not available inside the app, contact [email protected]. Ultranote may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

International transfers and security

Ultranote and its service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries where they operate. By using the service, you understand that information may be transferred to jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your own.

Ultranote uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

Ultranote is not directed to children under 13, and Ultranote does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact [email protected].

Changes to this policy

Ultranote may update this privacy policy from time to time. If material changes are made, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
